Biggleswade were unlucky to be held as they drew 1-1 with Rugby down despite being down to ten men in the final minutes.
Dean Bull had a strong first half making a number of saves from the Rugby forwards with Biggleswade struggling to get going early on. As the half went on Biggleswade improved a Jonathon Woolf and Paul Barnes looked especially dangerous going forward.
The first half started brightly with Barnes dribbling around three players before having his shot well saved by the Rugby Keeper Clark. However Rugby then scored against the run of play when a low cross was easily tapped in by Niki Preston. Biggleswade fired back just four minutes later when Paul Barnes lifted a looped ball over the Rugby goalkeeper and into the bottom right corner. For the rest of the game the balance of play was even with both sides producing some good attacking football. However in injury time Biggleswade had Stuart Lochhead sent off for a sliding tackle. With the scores level Dean Bull then produced a brilliant double save from Rugby forward Warwick Alexander to round off a great performance.
MoM: Paul Barnes
